Competitions

  • House Damage Assessment
It obtained The First Place Award. We deigned an extremely computationally efficient image segmentation framework with uncertainty quantification for building damage assessment from remote sensing images. The proposed solution outperforms the contemporary frameworks from University of Michigan and University of Wisconsin, Madison.
  • Hierarchy Reinforcement Learning for Automated Greenhouse
This project aimed to design and develop artificial intelligence control system for Autonomous Greenhouses International Challenge 2019 in Netherlands. Our system was based on hierarchy reinforcement learning.
  • Cloud Enabled Mobile Sensing Agent for Smart Agriculture
The project intended to create a device for sensing environmental data, detect and forecast potential insects' disaster using acoustic recognition. It obtained The Second Position Award in the IEEE ``Sensor and Measurement" Student Contest (IEEE IS\&M-SC) for live demonstration session at IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference.
  • A Prospective Study of Flood Disaster in Canada
This project analyzed the spatial-temporal data of flood disaster across Canada from 1902 to 2014. A poster was presented in the Student Contest of 45th Annual Meeting of Statistical Society of Canada.
